Do You Believe in Magic?

Do You Believe in Magic?

When I ask people if they believe in magic, most of them immediately think of something impossible or beyond explanation.
And while there is always room in life for wonder and mystery, that is not the kind of magic I am talking about right now.

I am talking about the kind of magic that happens every single day.
The kind we often miss because we have become so accustomed to it.

A conversation that arrives exactly when you need it.

A song that brings back a beautiful memory.

The smell of jasmine on an evening walk.

A sunset that makes you stop what you are doing for just a moment.

A friend who calls at precisely the right time.

The feeling of laughing so hard your stomach hurts.

The first sip of coffee in the morning.

Just about every vista in France.

The way your dog greets you like you are the most important person in the world.

To me, that is all magic.

Many of us were taught that magic had to be extraordinary to count. That if it could be explained, it was somehow less meaningful.
I disagree.

In fact, I think one of the greatest skills we can develop is the ability to notice the extraordinary hidden inside the ordinary.
I am not trying to lower the bar for what magic is, instead I want to expand our understanding of it. The more attention I pay, the more magic I seem to find.

I see it in human resilience.

I see it in kindness.

I see it in people rebuilding their lives after heartbreak.

I see it in the courage it takes to begin again.

I see it in the simple fact that we get another chance every morning to wake up and create something meaningful with the day ahead of us.

Life is full of small miracles. The question is not whether they are happening. The question is whether we are paying attention. I want to invite you to look for the magic. Not the impossible kind.

The everyday kind that has been there all along, waiting to be noticed.

And that’s…Good to Know!
