Is it THAT important?
Guess what? Most things aren’t that important.
I know—your inner overachiever just had something to say about that! But hear me out. Somewhere along the way, we started treating every email, text, and “urgent” request like it was the finale of a medical drama. But right now I want to assure you… it’s not.
Urgency Is Drama
Our poor nervous systems are running around in circles responding to every notification as if the world might end if we don’t reply in 3 seconds.
Truth check:
A missed call is not a charging tiger.
That typo in your email is not a federal crime.
Your Amazon package arriving a day late is not in fact a big deal. (Unless it was your Grandma’s birthday gift.)
You get to choose what really matters. When you stop pretending every molehill is Mount Everest, you suddenly have the energy to actually climb the real mountains—like building your dreams, nurturing your relationships, and remembering where you parked.
Next time your stress levels spike, ask yourself:
Will this matter in five years? (Or five days?)
Am I afraid of losing approval, or is this actually important?
What amazing thing could I do with this energy instead of stressing about this thing?
Does this really deserve a starring role in my movie?
Imagine what you could do with all the energy you’ve been spending panicking over so much. Often, we create drama just to feel something—so get clear on how you actually want to feel. If you’re in the habit of manufacturing urgency or chaos, notice it, own it… and then choose something better. That’s where your power is.
And that’s…Good to Know!
